Common Questions About ParentMD

What if I already have telehealth from my insurance?
If you already have access to a board-certified pediatrician through another service, that's great! We encourage you to use it as needed and use ParentMD for all of our other great parenting resources, which include emotional and social support, the symptom checker and loads of other helpful tools.
Can ParentMD replace my pediatrician?
No, this cannot replace your pediatrician. ParentMD is designed to be a supplemental resource to your primary pediatrician, especially because currently, healthcare systems cannot guarantee more than 15 to 30 minutes with your pediatrician at a given time, which may not give you time to discuss all of your questions. ParentMD can be an additional resource for your parenting questions but it is not a medical provider and does not provide personalized medical advice. 

Additionally, ParentMD provides access to third-party virtual pediatrician and nurse providers concerning questions about your child’s medical needs, but these virtual visits cannot replace or substitute for an ongoing patient-physician relationship and treatment plan with your pediatrician.
Do I need have to have insurance for ParentMD?
Insurance is not required. All subscriptions and purchases are out-of-pocket.
Can I cancel my ParentMD membership?
Yes, you can cancel at any time! To cancel your ParentMD subscription, you will log in to your account, click on "Subscriptions" and select "Cancel".
Do I have to pay for the 24/7 Virtual Pediatrician or After Hours Virtual Nurse?
All visits with a 24/7 Virtual Pediatrician and After Hours Virtual Nurse are covered with the purchase of your membership.

Virtual pediatrician services are provided by third-party pediatric provider Blueberry Pediatrics. Virtual nursing services are provided by third-party nursing provider Anytime Pediatrics.

Complimentary consultations with the Emotional and Social Support services are limited to 20 minutes per session, with the option to purchase additional sessions for a discounted rate to members. Your child life specialist will advise a plan, based upon the topic needs, if an additional consultation is needed at an extra cost.
